Warrington VS Frampton: Josh Warrington retains world title by beating Carl Frampton on points

On The Saturday night boxing fight between Warrington VS Frampton, Josh Warrington once again went against the odds to retain his IBF Featherweight title by winning the match by the unanimous decision win over Carl Frampton.

Warrington, who got his belt from Lee Selby in the summer, was making his first defense fight at the Manchester Arena where he was dubbed as the Underdog by the bookmakers.




Warrington; the Leeds’ warrior with his pace and strong output cased the two-weight world Champion, Carl Frampton, to have problems all night long. Warrington eventually managed to secure his win by the 116-112, 116-112 and 116-113 unanimous decision.

With this win, Warrington’s boxing career is at 28-0 with 6 knockout wins.

The fight started an early hook from Frampton, which troubled “the jackal” who had to face up more pressure from the champion later on.

Frampton suffered a small cut from Warrington’s onslaught but the claimed his pace and showed his experience and class as he controlled the range and his skills, which reigned at him being at 122 and 126lbs.

However, Warrington, being cheered on by Leeds fans kept on pressing forward as he pinned his foe on the ropes.

Frampton tried his best to keep him away but Warrington kept on coming with his big shots as the fight entered in the championship rounds.

By then Warrington had already stepped up his game as he put in some nice combinations in the closing stages. He was nullifying Frampton’s every counter with one-twos.

The fight ultimately ended with Warrington’s win over Carl Frampton with unanimous decision points.
