Washington Redskins 15-25 Tennessee Titans: Blaine Gabbert TD pass helps Titans win the crucial match

The Saturday night game of football between Washington Redskins VS Tennessee Titans ended with a crucial win for Tennessee Titans by 25-16.

 

Blain Gabbert, the backup QB for the Titans threw a two-yard TD pass to MyCole Pruitt with only four minutes remaining to the game.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota completed 10 of his 13 passes for 110 yards before leaving the game in the first half after he was sacked by Jonathan Allen.

He was replaced by Gabbert who completed 7 of his 11 passes for 101 yards along with a go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter.

Washington drove the ball in Titans 44 yard line to regain the lead but Josh Johnson’s third won pass was intercepted by Kevin Byrd.

Redskins again had one chance to win back the lead but Johnson was again picked off and this time by Malcolm Butler.

With this win, Titans are now 9-6 on the season as they keep their hopes alive for the playoffs in pursuit of the final Wild Card spot. As for Redskins, they are 7-8 on the season with this defeat and are now out of contention in the AFC.

Redskins QB Adrian Peterson carried the ball 26 times for 119 yards. He completed his 1000 yards for the season and was able to be on the eighth place of the “NFL’s All-Time Rushing” list by passing Eric Dickerson who had 13259 yards.

FIRST QUARTER

Redskins 3-0 Titans: Dustin Hopkins made a 50-yard field goal.

Redskins 3-6 Titans: Derrick Henry made a one-yard touchdown run.

SECOND QUARTER

Redskins 10-6 Titans: Josh Johnson made a seven-yard touchdown pass to Michael Floyd.

Redskins 10-9 Titans: Ryan Succop made a 42-yard field goal.

THIRD QUARTER

Redskins 13-9 Titans: Hopkins made a 40-yard field goal.

FOURTH QUARTER

Redskins 13-12 Titans: Succop made a 33-yard field goal.

Redskins 16-12 Titans: Hopkins made a 46-yard field goal.

Redskins 16-19 Titans: Blaine Gabbert made a two-yard touchdown pass to MyCole Pruitt.

Redskins 16-25 Titans: Malcolm Butler made a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown.
