The finals of the men’s 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Doha ended in a spectacular manner as USA’s Noah Lyles took home the Gold medal as he clocked the race on time of 19.83 seconds.
The race was a bad one for England as their star athlete Adam Gemili suffered the heartbreak of coming 4th in the race. Adam Gemili came 4th by clicking the time of 20.03 seconds in the final at Qatar. The second place went to Andre De Grasse of Canada while third place was for Ecuador’s Alex Quinonez.
This is the same nightmare result for Gemili who missed his bronze medal shot for the Rio Olympics by a margin of three-thousandths of a second.
The loss of Gemili was not the only blow to England as the 400m European Champion representing England, Matthew Hudson-Smith had to come off the track in a wheelchair as he suffered pulled hamstring injury after only being 20- meters into the race.
24 years old sprinter had been suffering from the hamstring injuries all year long but still Rabah Yousif, his teammate was able to make it to the semi-finals with a time of 45.40 seconds.
