Drummond has 31 and 15 as Pistons top Timberwolves by 131-114

Quite often this season, fans have watched Detroit Pistons throwing the ball to Blake Griffin and watch him do the rest.

Griffin was also happy to see his teammates doing the most of the heavy lifting on Wednesday night.

On a night when the star player only scored 9 points, Pistons bench got 70 points with Andre Drummond scoring 31 points to lead Pistons win over the Minnesota Timberwolves by 131-114.

Griffin, after Pistons’ 10th victory in their last 12 games said, “Our second unit was quite fantastic tonight. Pout starters did not do much in the first half tonight and I was also a big part of that. However, the guys who came off the bench saved us.”

Dwane Casey, Pistons coach said, “Luke was 20 plus while Ish was 28 plus. Everyone can see what kind of impact these guys had on the game tonight. We played a great second half and it was our second unit that kept us in game.”

As for Minnesota Timberwolves who are 32-31 on the season has now lost four of their last 5 games. They were led by Karl Anthony Towns who scored 24 points before getting fouled out of the game.

Ryan Saunders; Minnesota coach said, “Going to give credit to Pistons, they are applying like anyone in the league right now. We also need to start playing like that.”

Timberwolves were leading the game by 16 points until Drummond scored a 29 footer 3-pointer in the first quarter’s end.

With this, Minnesota Timberwolves have now lost 8 consecutive games against the Pistons with their last win being back on Feb 8, 2015, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Up net, Timberwolves will be playing against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night. As for Detroit Pistons, they will be playing against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
