British no. 1, Johanna Konta managed to win her semi’s match at the Morocco Open in Rabat by defeating her opponent Ajla Tomljanovic n the 3 straight sets.
Konta managed to win over the 4th seeded opponent by 6-2, 7-6 and 9-7 to move into the finals of the Morocco Open which is her first run to the final of the clay court campaign of the season.
Prior to this week, Konta had not won more than 2 of the consecutive WTA main draws at the clay matches.
In the last 4 matches against Tomljanovic, Konta had her serve rarely threatened as she secured an easy victory over the last year’s runner up of the event.
Auk next, the 7th seeded Konta will be facing the Greek player and the 6th seeded of the event Maria Sakkari for the finals. Sakkari managed to reach the finals of the Morocco Open after dispatching Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium by winning over her by 6-4 and 6-4.
