According to the family’s lawyer in a statement, the 2-year-old girl who was struck by a foul ball during the Houston Astros VS Chicago Cubs baseball game suffered from a skull fracture as well as seizure.
Since the incident happened on May 29th, this is the first time that the family has revealed any kind of information about the condition of the toddler. The game was held at Minute Maid Park located in Houston and at that time, the little girl was sitting with her parent’s lap in a seat located along the third base line.
As a result of the hit, she suffered a skull fracture that was followed with subdural bleeding as well as bruising and swelling. Family’s attorney named Richard Mithoff said in a statement on Wednesday that after the girl was hospitalized, she had a suffered from a seizure and to assist her recovery, she was given medicine.
At the moment, the child is back at her home and her condition will be reassessed in July.
Mithoff said, “The foremost concern of the family is about child’s health but they still wanted to extend their thanks to both the Astros team and the fans for showing their concern.”
The shot was hit by Cubs slugger Albert Ramos who stuck a foul ball that went straight into the stands and after the ball hit the poor girl he had an emotional reaction to it.
In the last MLB season, all of the 30 teams of the league extended their protective netting to as far as the end of the dugouts. Now Chicago White Sox and the Washington nations, MLB teams have announced that they would be extending their nettings as far as the left and right field foul poles.
