Hashim Amla the batsmen of the South African team has announced to the world his retirement from international cricket.
36 years old Amla will still be playing the domestic cricket along with playing the Mzansi Super League. His international cricket career spans to almost 15 years.
During his time, he played a total of 349 matches for South Africa in which he made 55 centuries and 88 scores in excess of the 50s while totaling in more than 18000 runs.
Amla also holds the title for the highest Test score record for South Africa which is 311 runs that he made against England back in July 22nd at The Oval.
Amla said in a statement, “I learnt many lessons during this incredible ride, made many friends and most importantly shared in the love of a brotherhood called #proteafire. I would like to thank my parents for their prayers, love and support, it is their shadow over me that enabled me to play for years under the Protea sun. Also, my family, friends and agent, my team-mates and every member of the support staff throughout this incredible journey. A heartfelt thank you to every one of you!
