Canada wins over Australia by 90-70 in the pre-World Cup game

In the Friday night pre-world cup warm-up game held between team Canada and team Australia, Canada was never able to outscore Australia in the 4th quarter who were by 23-13 but still were able to win the game ultimately by 90-70.

Team Canada was leading the game early on during the 3rd quarter with 51-36 but team Australia was able to level the score in the 4th quarter. Both teams will once again play against each other on Saturday night for another game at the same stadium located in Perth.

As for the first official game of the FIBA World Cup played between Canada and Australia, it will be held on September 1dst in China.

 

Team Canada is going to this world cup without many of their key star players. The latest name to pull out of the team was Kelly Olynyk of Miami heat who had to pull out due to his knee injury. He is in the long list of the players like Jamal Murray, R.J. Barrett, Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Chris Boucher, and Dwight Powell who are going to miss playing in this year’s FIBA World Cup.

In this game, Canada was led by Kevin Pangos who scored 18 points to lead the team’s win. As for the coach of the team Canada, it is Nick Nurse who led the NBA team Toronto Raptors to their first-ever NBA Championship win. 5 other players of Canada scored in double digits with Andrew Nembhard scoring 12 points.

As for team Australia, they were led by Patty Mills who scored 20 points.

Up next for Australia are exhibition games against team USA which will take place on 22nd and 24th August respectively.
