Michael Johnson; the Sprint legend recovers from a Mini Stroke

The winner of four times Olympic Sprint; Michael Johnson, is recovering after suffering from a mini stroke.

The 50 years old American Sprinter managed to gain the world records for both the 200 meters and 5400 meters 1996 Atlanta Olympics reveled recently on twitter this Saturday that he is suffering from medical problems.

Johnson who retired from the track back in 2008 wrote on twitter, “Lat week, I surprisingly suffered from what is called a Transient Ischemic Attack or more commonly known as Mini Stroke.”

He further said, “The good news shower is that I am already back a home with my family while being cleared of any heart issues. I have already made a great progress on my road to full recovery. It seems these things can affect anyone, even the ‘once world’s fastest man’. I am no stranger to following a good exercise plan and I have already thrown myself into it”.

He ended the tweet with words, “in this situation being a former athlete has really helped me in setting a mindset. It has also reminded me to take care of one’s self. I am going to post updates about recovering health from time to time. Thank you all for your words of encouragement”.

Johnson is the only male athlete in the world to have won the both 200 and 400 meters sprint races in the same Olympics. He also has the title of being the eight time World Champion.
