Which Premier League players are out of contract this summer?

As the Premier League season approaches its final weeks, attention is rapidly shifting toward the summer transfer window, where a significant number of high-profile players could become free agents. The situation has already begun to evolve, with Harry Maguire recently committing his future to Manchester United by signing a new contract, removing himself from the growing list of players whose deals are set to expire.

However, while Maguire’s future is now secure, several major names have already confirmed they will depart their clubs once their current contracts end. Among the most notable are Bernardo Silva of Manchester City, Andy Robertson of Liverpool, Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United, and Casemiro, Maguire’s teammate at Manchester United. Their exits will mark the end of important chapters for their respective clubs.

With less than five weeks remaining in the league campaign, uncertainty surrounds the futures of dozens of players across England’s top flight. From experienced veterans to emerging talents and returning loanees, more than 60 players could potentially be on the move this summer.

🔴 Arsenal and Aston Villa: Stability over uncertainty

At Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta faces minimal disruption. The only senior player nearing the end of his contract is goalkeeper Karl Hein, who has spent much of his time out on loan.

Similarly, Aston Villa appear well-prepared, with manager Unai Emery having secured long-term deals for his squad. Midfielder Ross Barkley is also under contract until at least 2027, easing concerns over departures.

🟡 Bournemouth and Brentford: Key decisions ahead

Bournemouth face a crucial situation regarding defender Marcos Senesi, who has been one of their standout performers this season. Despite multiple contract offers, the Argentine has yet to commit, attracting interest from major European clubs.

Meanwhile, Brentford could retain key players by activating contract extensions. Defender Rico Henry and midfielders Mathias Jensen and Josh Dasilva all have clauses that allow the club to extend their stays.

🔵 Brighton: Experience at risk of departure

Brighton & Hove Albion may lose several experienced figures. Veteran midfielder James Milner, who holds the record for most Premier League appearances, is yet to decide his future.

Defenders Adam Webster and Joel Veltman are also approaching the end of their contracts, while long-serving winger Solly March has struggled with injuries.

🔻 Burnley and Chelsea: Contrasting situations

Burnley face potential relegation and could lose several experienced players, including goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and striker Ashley Barnes.

In contrast, Chelsea remain unaffected due to their strategy of offering long-term contracts, leaving them without any major free-agent concerns.

🦅 Crystal Palace and Everton: Important calls to make

At Crystal Palace, manager Oliver Glasner is set to depart, while players like Daichi Kamada and Jefferson Lerma may also leave unless contract options are activated.

Everton must decide on veterans such as Idrissa Gueye and club captain Seamus Coleman, both of whom have contributed significantly despite their age.

⚪ Fulham and Leeds: Key performers attracting attention

Fulham could face interest in attacking midfielder Harry Wilson, who has enjoyed an impressive season. Meanwhile, forward Raul Jimenez remains an important figure as his contract nears expiry.

At Leeds United, uncertainty surrounds their goalkeeping department, with Karl Darlow, Illan Meslier, and Alex Cairns all nearing the end of their deals.

🔴 Liverpool: Big names set to move

Liverpool face one of the most high-profile departures, with Andy Robertson expected to leave after years of success. Meanwhile, defender Ibrahima Konate is close to agreeing a contract extension, which would be a major boost for the club.

🔵 Manchester clubs: Major changes ahead

At Manchester City, Bernardo Silva’s departure will mark the end of a trophy-laden era. Defender John Stones could also leave following an injury-hit season.

Manchester United are preparing for multiple exits, including Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, as the club reshapes its squad.

⚫ Newcastle and Tottenham: End of cycles

Newcastle United will say goodbye to Kieran Trippier after a successful spell, while several squad players may also depart.

At Tottenham Hotspur, uncertainty surrounds players like Yves Bissouma and Ben Davies, particularly if results do not improve.

🌍 European stars also in demand

Beyond England, several top European players could be available. Robert Lewandowski remains prolific despite his age, while Dusan Vlahovic and Julian Brandt are also attracting attention.

Midfield powerhouse Leon Goretzka could leave Bayern Munich, and defenders like Antonio Rudiger may yet decide their futures.

⚡ A defining summer ahead

With so many players nearing the end of their contracts, the upcoming transfer window promises to be one of the most dynamic in recent years. Clubs will have the opportunity to secure experienced talent without transfer fees, while players will seek new challenges and final lucrative deals.

As the season concludes, decisions made in the coming weeks will shape squads across Europe and determine the competitive balance for the next campaign.
