Aaron McKenna told the media that as to how he got valuable experience for boxing in the sparring matches with boxer Amir Khan and how it has helped him move his career ahead faster.
19 years old Irish boxer sparred with Amir Khan ahead of his sixth fight against Abel Ryes in California which is to be held on Thursday. The sparring session took place in Los Angeles.
McKenna also served as the sparring partner for Katie Taylor for the amateur ranks. No, he has received a valuable advice from Khan’s blurring punching speed to test out his own reflexes.
McKenna told media, “it was a great sparring session and I learned a lot from him. He is not only very fast but also very smart. When you are sparring with him, you can tell how talented he is”.
He further stated, “His speed was obviously the main thing that stuck out along with his ring experience. He told me to work harder. He also loved the fact as to how me and my brother Steven are not afraid to spar with anyone. He is also admiring the fact that I turned pro at age 18 because he too turned pro at an early age.”
This year already, McKenna has racked up four fights in win and e is currently being kept active as he spars against more and more aggressive opponents.
