Whyte vs. Chisora 2: Dillian Whyte knocks out Derek Chisora

The much-anticipated grudge match between Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora ended with a knockout win for Dillian Whyte at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night.

This rematch had remained a pulsating fight since their fights two years ago when Whyte won by split decision. On Saturday night, their rivalry concluded with the 11th round knockout win.

Whyte fired a counter left to send Chisora stumbling backward and then finished the fight with a brutal right punch.

Chisora before being knocked out was winning on the score cards of two judges despite his two points being deducted.

However, in the end, Whyte was the winner as he ended the 2018 year with a stellar performance in where he had already beaten opponents like Lucas Browne and Joseph Parker. Whyte’s plans for next year are to defeat the world heavyweight champion and his former opponent Anthony Joshua. Their fight is set to happen on April 13th, 2019. As for Anthony Joshua, he is still chasing after Deontay Wilder.

In the opening round, Chisora was all up in his opponents face with his right-hand punches but he was forced to duck down when a left hand swung up from the hip.

Chisora maintained the pressure on Whyte throughout the second round who was trying to counter with his counter punch as both men tangled up on the top rope. Chisora was scolded by the referee after he bell rang.

Next few rounds saw Chisora unleashing his powerful hooks onto his opponent who at times tried to cover them an absorb them.

Chisora’s footwork and body shots were impressive in the fight and by the end of the fifth round, her thumped Whyte with a left hook to the head.

Chisora’s newly built and refined physique, as well as his moves, was starting to take a toll on Whyte who started to show signs of fatigue.

By the eighth round, Chisora’s speed stated to slow down when he first suffered a point deduction for a low blow. Both opponents were trading fight and by eleventh round, Chisora again suffered a point deduction due to him using his elbow.

Moments after that, both fighters threw pouches at each other. Whyte’s punch was much powerful which ended the fight as well as his feud with Chisora.
