Australian Open; Novak Djokovic beats Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to reach third round

Novak Djokovic remains true to this path for winning his seventh Australian Open title after he defeated Joe Wilfred Tsonga in second set o the second round match.

Back in 2008, Djokovic defeated the Frenchman to win his second Grand Slam title but their first tie in Melbourne proved too strong for Djokovic but he still gained the victory by 6-3, 7-5 and 6-4.

Tsonga who previously beat Djokovic in the 2010 quarterfinals at Melbourne Park has since then dropped out of world 100 rankings after he underwent knee surgery last year.

Denis Shapovalov

Next Djokovic will face the 19 years old Denis Shapovalov for the very first time who proved too strong for his 25th seed opponent Taro Daniel as he won the match by 6-3 7-6 (7-2) 6-3.

Alexander Zverev also performed with both his good and bad performances in his match against Jeremy Chardy to book his place in the last 32 after defeating Chardy at 12:30 am on Margaret Court Arena.
