On the Saturday night’s big boxing fight of Pacquiao VS Broner, Manny Pacquiao proved that age is only a number as he outclassed his opponent Adrien Broner to gain a unanimous points win in Las Vegas.
This was Pac Man’s 70th professional fight of the career at age 40. The crowd at the MGM Grand stadium saw the champion roll back the years as he rolled in a victory to retain his WBA World Welterweight title.
The score of 117-111, 116-112, and 116-112 might not depict Pacquiao’s dominance in the ring against he cautious Broner but it still shows that Pacquiao is one of the biggest names in the game.
Pacquiao might have slowed down from his prime in his jab speed but the world saw him take control of his 24th career title fight for a world title that is going to register him in the Hall of Fame but he is still not finished.
Floyd Mayweather at age 42 years old was also sitting on the ringside to watch the fight and if he decides to fight against his old rival once more, he is going to give Pac Man more trouble than Broner did on Saturday night.
Pacquiao with the cheering of the MGM crowd came into the ring with his jab and took control of the early three rounds in a much familiar style of his.
In the fourth round, Broner who was looking clam and maintained his pace managed to hit the old man with his smart right counters a couple of times. The fifth round saw the cord calling out Manny, Manny and Manny Pacquiao did end the round with his strong jabs.
Many thought, age would catch up to Pacquiao in the second half of the fight and it was powered by the powerful uppercut from Broner. However, the sixth round actually saw the Filipino exploded with life as he took charge in the seventh round.
Pacquiao managed to ease off into the eighth round but suffered heavy damage from a left lead in the ninth round followed with a hard straight left. The closing round saw Pacquiao realizing the fact that he does not need a knockout win and continued with landing more punches to press forward on his American opponent.
Borner’s best round was perhaps the 11th round but he needed more to win the match. On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao kept his cool and pace to win his biggest and best victory in the past few years.
