According to reports, Alberto Del Rio, the former WWE star is going to fight against the former UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz for a UFC fight sometime this year.
The announcement about this fight was made by Campbell McLaren, the chief executive of Combate Americas in an interview in which he said that the pair will fight at a catchweight of 210lbs.
Del Rio, who had been absent from the sport for nearly 9 years, reported back in October that he will be making a return to the sport. He currently holds the MMA record of 9-5.
During his time at WWE, the Mexican-American fighter won 4 of the World Championships as well as the 2011’s matches for the Money In The Bank and Royal Rumble tournaments.
Del Rio left WWE back in 2014 and had also been reported to be in relationship with the British wrestler Paige.
As for Ortiz, he is undoubtedly regarded to be a legend in UFC having held the UFC lightweight title for so many years. His most memorable matches had been against Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture.
As for the date of the match with Del Rio, whose real name is Jose Alberto Rodriguez, it has not been set yet but is expected to be held during eh final quarter of the year 2019.
