Aldridge and White led San Antonio Spurs to beat Leonard and LA Clippers by 107-97

The game between San Antonio Spurs and the LA Clippers looked a lot like the time Kawhi Leonard played his last game for the Spurs.

LaMarcus Aldridge along with Derrick White took the lead of the San Antonio Spurs with their 17 points apiece to hand Spurs their win over Leonard and the LA Clippers this Friday night by 107-97.

Patrick Beverly, the guard of Clippers said, “They wanted this win more than us and it clearly showed in their performance. You need to congratulate them.  They came here with the edge and with a thirst for a win and it was clear to see.”

San Antonio Spurs were able to end the 7-game win streak for the Clippers in a game which was the 2nd appearance for Leonard against his former team. Leonard only scored 19 points for the Clippers.

DeMar DeRozan said, “This was just not any old team. Ours is the highest caliber team in this conference.  We went out there and we compete, compete and compete and the outcome of the effort comes in our way.”

San Antonio Spurs were on 2-game losing skid prior to the win over the Clippers and their former teammate.

Leonard has spent the first 7 of his NBA career playing for the Spurs before he asked for a trade. He was then traded to Toronto Raptors and won for them the NBA championship along with being the NBA Finals MVP for the second time. After the season concluded, Leonard joined with Clippers as the free agent.

This trip for Leonard was not a memorable one as he not only lost the game but was heavily booed by Spurs’ crowd. Every time he touched the ball, the crowd booed at him which started from pregame introductions.

Up next, Clippers will host a game on Saturday against the Washington Wizards whereas Spurs will take on Detroit Pistons.
