Antetokounmpo scores 27 to lead Bucks win over Rockets by 116-109

Giannis Antetokounmpo was not interested in the debate of being the early MVP favorite prospect after he led the Bucks to win over Washington Wizards and their last year’s MVP player James Harden on Wednesday night.

The rising star of the Bucks was only happy for the fact that his team was leaving Houston with a win.

Antetokounmpo said to media, “all I care about is winning. I know that by winning, taking care of your teammates and leaving everything on the floor is the only way the things are going to take care of themselves; the titles and all that.”

Antetokounmpo scored 27 points for the Bucks along with his season high of 21 rebounds to help the Bucks win over the Wizards by 116-109.

Harden led the Wizards with his 42 points. He said to media, “We just got stagnant in the fourth quarter and let them have 38 points which are way too many, especially at home. So there you go, this is what caused our defeat. We could not get pout in the transition.”

Antetokounmpo was able to make one of his two free shots to give Bucks a four points lead with 90 seconds to the game. Harden missed his third straight 3-pointer for the night that allowed Antetokounmpo to land in another shot to let the Bucks be at 112-106 with 40 seconds on the clock.

Harden again missed another 3-pointer and Bucks managed to add in their four free throws to secure their 7th win out of their last 8 games.

Coach Mike D’Antoni of the Milwaukee Bucks credited the win to defensive duo of Brook Lopez and Antetokounmpo for this win.

D’Antoni said, “They are imposing the rim. They did a good job and it cost us some good turnovers. We were not real sharp and we tried to force some things up under the basket.”

Up next, Milwaukee Bucks will play a game against the Washington Wizards on Friday night while Houston Rockets will host a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
