It has only been 12 games so far that Anthony Davis has played for the LA Lakers but teaming up with Lakers star LeBron James, he knows how to share the workload of a game.
Still, Anthony Davis struggled hard in finding his offense against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night causing James to do the heavy lifting as he posted 29 points along with 11 assists.
However, when it was time for the LA Lakers to receive some help at the buzzer time, it was Anthony Davis who came to help with both hands.
James had made 2 free throws with 5 seconds to the game and then Davis blocked Kings’ Harrison Barnes who made a shot at the sound of the buzzer. With Davis blocking the shot splendidly, the buzzer was sounded and the win for LA Lakers came by 97-95.
This was the first win for Davis against his former team and his coach Luke Walton.
Davis had the second-lowest performance in this game during his last 12 games as he posted only 17 points but he still came up big to seal LA Lakers 10th win in their last 11 games. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also helped the LA Lakers with his 16 points 12 of which he scored during the 4th quarter.
LA Lakers were in lead with only 3 minutes to the game by 95-90 after Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added his 3rd 3-pointer shot but then Bogdan of Kings scored 5 points in a row to equalize the game. Following only 1:50 minute to the game, LeBron James came to score which was replied by Bogdan again I attempt to tie the game with only 22 seconds left to the game. But their efforts were halted by Davis’ big block.
Kings were led by Buddy Hield, who scored 21 points with his 8 rebounds while Bogdan scored 18 points for the Sacramento Kings.
Up next, Kings will host on Sunday against the Boston Celtics while LA Lakers will host on Sunday as well against the Atlanta Hawks.
