Anthony Davis, the newest member of the LA Lakers scored a long floating shot with 4 minutes to the game to end the night with 50 points playing for the first time as a Lakers player.
During the game of La Lakers VS Minnesota Timberwolves, Davis had fast-breaking points, many attacks and second chances that allowed him to pummel through the Timberwolves defense and as Frank Vogel says it, ‘ smash-mouth way to get the 50 points.’
Vogel said of Davis, “no 3-pointers went 20 for 29 and then living at free throw shots, offensive rebounds, post-ups, and crashes along with other such things. This was simply an old school display of action from Davis which is one for the ages.”
Davis scores 50 points for the LA Lakers to lead their 142-125 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves this Sunday night. With this win, the LA Lakers improve their league-leading winning record to 21-3.
Davis was able to make 20 of his 29 throws along with competing for all of his 10 free throws along with making 6 assists and 7 rebounds. Davis has reached the mark of scoring 50 points for the 4th time in his NBA career.
Davis said of the milestone with Lakers, “it was really special to be able to do something like this in front of such great fans, a historical franchise and my new teammates; especially by the way we are playing in this season. It was nothing short of being amazing.”
LeBron James also assisted the team with 32 points along with 13 assists but he did commit 4 fouls in the 1st half. Alex Caruso of Lakers scored 16 points as the team now has won their 4th game in a row and their home-game record improves to 10-2.
Up next for the Minnesota Timberwolves is a wrap-up of their 3-game road trip with Monday night game against the Phoenix Suns. As for the LA Lakers, they will be starting their 5-game road trip with the first game being held on Wednesday. They will play the opening road game against the Orlando Magic.
