In the latest news of NFL, Antonio Brown has been confirmed to be the new wide receiver of the Oakland Raiders. He will also be the highest paid wide receiver in NFL next season.
In the trade of Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers will be offered a third round as well as fifth-round pick from Raiders. The news was announced by both teams on Wednesday morning as the new year for NFL is to begin.
Under this trade, Antonio Brown will be getting a three years contract deal for a sum of 50.125 million dollars which might be increased with incentives and 60% of the contract will be guaranteed.
Jon Gruden, the Raiders coach said, “in my opinion, we have acquired the very best wide receiver of the NFL. Now let’s go to work.”
Mike Mayock, the general manager of Raiders in Brown’s introductory press conference said, “I am very much excited to be sitting right next to Antonio Brown. He is the best practice football player and as good of a football player that I have ever seen in my life.”
Prior to this trade, Antonio Brown who was the sixth round pick of the 2010 NFL draft out of Central Michigan had played his entire career with Steelers.
Brown had an alleged heated argument with the Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger during last game of the 2018s season and missed the game as well.
Brown was done with the team after this and demanded a trade from the team during offseason as he claimed that Roethlisberger acted as if he was the owner of the team.
In the Raiders conference on Wednesday, he said, “it is an honor to be here. I am here to prove to the world as to what I am and what I truly stand for. I am going to show with my actions instead of just words.”
