Austin Watson; forward of Predators has his suspension of 27 games reduced to 18 games following his domestic violence case

Austin Watson; the forward player for the Nashville Predators was punished for 27 games suspension for his domestic violence case. Hover now his sentenced has been reduced to 18 games after the appeal.

Nine game suspensions were cut off by independent arbitrator Shyam Das. The news was announced on Thursday night before the Predators vs. Wiping Jets game by NHL. The appeal was made on behalf of NHL for Austin’s original suspension. The suspension for Austin was announced prior to the start of training camp.

Das is formerly the member of Major League Baseball but was fired back in May of 2012. He has been the tenured arbitrator for the NHL for a very long time.

Austin Watson pled no contest on his case of misdemeanor domestic violence last summer for which he was arrested back in June. He was arrested allegedly for the charges of hitting his girlfriend outside of a gas station located in Franklin, Tennessee. State of Tennessee’s court of law gave Austin 3 month of probation along with enrollment to an alcohol and drug abuse program and 26 weeks of batterer intervention.

Aston who has now missed the entire training camp will be making an appearance on November 15th when Predator will face off Arizona Coyotes. He is still allowed to use team’s facilities for practice but this is going to cost him 241,000 dollars of his original 1.1 million dollars salary.

In his fifth year with NHL team Nashville Predators, Austin Watson made five goals and five assists in their nine playoffs games last season. As for the regular season’s 76 games, Watson made 14 goals and five assists.
