In the last match of the 5 match ODI series on Sunday in Dubai, Australia managed to win the series by 5-0 with their 20-run victory in the 5th match.
Usman Khawaja from Australia’s side scored 98 runs and was only 2 runs short of his century whereas Glenn Maxwell scored 70 runs off of 33 deliveries. Both of these batsmen helped Australia to set a chase target of 328 runs for the hosts to win, which was the highest in the series.
Captain Aaron Finch scored 53 runs while Shaun Marsh scored 61 runs as both of them contributed with their fifties. From Pakistan’s side, 2 of the world cup fast bowling contenders were splendid.
Usman Shinwari got 4 wickets off of 49 runs while Junaid Khan got 3 wickets by giving away 73 runs.
Pakistan in their effort to at least win the final match put up quite a fight against the visitors but was restricted to 307-7.
Haris Sohail scored his 2nd century of the series with his 130 runs while the stand-in the captain of Pakistan Imad Wasim scored 50 runs off of 43 deliveries.
With this ODI series win and the win of the last 8 consecutive ODI series, they have already rounded off their world cup preparation for Asia.
