The Sunday night MLS game between New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United ended with Tom Barlow leading his team for a 1-0 victory. This was Tom Barlow’s first MLS goal that led his team’s victory and also to snap the Atlanta’s record steak for 5 shutout wins in MLS.
New York Red Bulls suffered from losing a man as Tim parker was shown a red card during the 35th minute when he denied a goal scoring chance given to him by Josef Martinez.
Red Bulls were also playing without their other star players such as Aaron Long and Bradley-Wright Phillips.
The Red Bulls’ lead goal scorer, Wright-Phillips was missing his 5th straight game for the team due to his groin injury.
As for Long, who is also the reigning MLS Defender of the Year, was missing his 2nd game in a row due to a hamstring injury.
Red Bulls’ defender in this game, Luis Robles made two saves for the team against Atlanta.
As for his 65 career shutouts, they are the 8th most in the history of MLS.
With this win, New York has now 4 of their last 5 games.
