Belgium is ending this year as the year-end no. 1 team of the FIFA after they won all of their 10 games of 2019.
They are retaining their no. 1 spot from the last year and also extend their lead over the champions France of the World Cup. With the year ending, teams will be going on a break for 4 months as the top national teams.
As for the no. 3 to no. 5 spots, it is still held by Brazil, England, and Uruguay respectively. The runner up for the World Cup; Croatia, ends the year as no. 6th as he traded their last year’s no. 7 spot with Portugal.
Spain, Argentina, and Colombia with their no. 8 to no. 10 spots complete the top 10 rankings.
The no. 11 is taken by Mexico, which was the best team ranked in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. As for United States, they finish as year-end no. 22.
From Africa, the top team to end as year-end no. 20 is Senegal whereas Iran is replaced by Japan for the rank no. 28 for being the Asia’s best team.
Host of this year’s World Cup, Qatar moves up two spots to be no. 55 after they won their last qualifying game for the 2023 Asian Cup.
