We were aware that they were a desperate team but we did a really great job in the 3 periods. The special team was a huge help. It was the key difference in this game.”
This game was the war welcoming for Cogliano and Perry, who came back to Anaheim for the very first time after joining the Dallas Stars in last season. Both of these veterans of NHL forwards enjoyed a lengthy career where they played as the forwards for Anaheim Ducks. Both of them received the standing ovation from the crowd gathered at the Honda Center following a video tribute from Anaheim Ducks.
Cogliano said, “I thought it was tough. It feels different being on the other side. For me, it was a little difficult to play at some times in this game but I still think it was a great game. You need to do what you need to do. A lot of emotions came back and I played through all of it.”
