Jordan Binnington of the Blues managed to perform a save after another to help his team secure another great victory for them.
The rookie goalie for the Blues saved 29 shots to set a franchise record for with his 10th postseason win for his team as the St. Louis Blues won over the San Jose Sharks by 2-1 on Friday night. With this win, Blues have tied the Western Conference Finals with San Jose Sharks by 2-2 with only 3 games left to decide the winner.
Colton Parayko talking about his teammate Binnington said, “He has been like dynamite for the team all year round. Since his first game, he came over and took the save for the team and he has been taking over since then. It has been fun to watch him. He is just doing his own thing.”
With these 10 postseason wins, Binnington has moved past goalies of Blues such as Brian Elliott and Roman Turek for being the goalie with the most wins for the team in the playoffs. He is also the only goalie in the history of NHL to have won 10 postseason games in a single season.
Binnington said, “It is a great honor and obviously I am having a lot of dun back here with my team. These guys are doing a great thing. They had limited chances tonight but they still played the game marvelously and I just tried to do my thing.”
Both goals of St Louis Blues were scored in the first half of the game by Tyler Bozak and Ivan Barbashev respectively which gave Binnington enough time to do his thing.
As for the single goal of Sharks on the night, it was scored by Tomas Hertl. As for their goalie Martin Jones he had 20 saves for his team.
The Game 5 for the best of seven series will be played in San Jose on Sunday.
