On Friday the 23rd November 2018, Bob McNair the owner of the3 NFL team Houston Texans died at age 81.
The news was announced by the team on their official Twitter account. McNair was the man who brought NFL back to Houston.
The post read, “It is with deep grief and regret that we announce that Bob McNair; the Houston Texans owner, founder, chairman, CEO and the philanthropist has passed away peacefully in Houston today with his loving wife Janice and his family by his side.”
McNair built his foundation from the ground up in energy plants as he founded the Cogen Technologies. According to the team;’ website other than being the CEO of his own company he also served the position of senior chairman of McNair Interests, Palmetto Partners Ltd. and RCM Financial Services.
Head coach of the team; Bill O’Brien said in his statement about McNair, “Mr. McNair was an amazing man who made tremendous contributions to not only NFL but towards the city of Houston as well. He was a caring and thoughtful person who cared about winning. The thing I will remember most about him is his care towards the players”.
McNair moved to Houston back in 19690 with his wife Janice after graduating from the University of Southern California. He was born and raised in Tampa.
On the NFL front, Texans will make a return on Monday when they will host a game against the Tennessee Titans.
