Brewers won 12 games in a row; Milwaukee based diner announces free burgers for everyone

Brewers won once again and for the first time in history since 1987, the Milwaukee based 24 hours open diner, George Webb is giving out free burgers to every one of the hometown fans. They are giving out these free burgers in honor of George Webb’s promise who said that if the team won 12 games in a row they will give out free burgers.

After the Brewers vs. Dodgers game ended with 6-5, the starter of the team; Gio Gonzalez said that, “I want a burger. I better get one in my locker tomorrow or I am going to get or I will get it somehow tomorrow”.

However, Gio has to wait a few days because the free burger giveaway will start on Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm at any one of the George Webb location throughout the Milwaukee.

A limited menu will also be available at that time.

This promise was made by George Webb back in the 1940’s.

The very first time George Webb fulfilled this promise was back in 1987 when Brewers went for 13 games undefeated. Fans lined up or hours despite heavy rain to get their free burgers. On that day, George Webb doled out free burgers from noon till 8 pm. An estimated 170,000 burgers were given out free by George Webb diners.
