Kyle Edmund, the British no. 1 had a wrong start for the Brisbane International as he lost a match against the qualifier Yasutaka Uchiyama in straight sets.
At the Brisbane International Hard Court tournament, the third seed payer Kyle Edmund nearly went for a break up in the fifth game of the first set. However, his Japanese opponent managed to save two break points.
The remainder of the set followed the serve.
During the tiebreak, Edmund broke twice but still failed to save two set points resulting in the world no. 185 Uchiyama to win four points in a row to take the first set in just one hour.
The second set was also wrapped up by Uchiyama in just 36 minutes as h now claims a spot in the next round of the tournament.
The critical damage to Edmund’s game was done in the third game where he broke down against his opponent.
Uchiyama took the match by 7-6 and 6-4.
