Brad Marchand, the star player of the Boston Bruins is known to be the one who pushes the limits. He made it into news big with his last year’s tactics during the playoffs when he licked players.
As for this season, he started it with pummeling a player in the opening game loss over the fact that he did not like the way he was celebrating the team’s win as well as Brad Marchand getting misconducts for two different incidents for protesting a call.
This resulted in Brad Marchand to receive 66 penalty minutes over the course of 19 games. However, after that incident, he behaved really well after 32 minutes of penalty punishment and gave his best performance in the regular season as he recorded his career best of 100 points.
However, as it happens to be, Brad Marchand is back to his old habits as he was caught by the cameras last night following the Bruins’ 2-1 loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets for the Game 3 of the playoffs series. He was caught delivering a cheap shot to the opposing team’s player in the back of the head.
Sergei Bobrovsky, the goalie for Blue Jackets made a save for the team with 71 seconds to the 3rd quarter when he had a scrum in front of the net. As for Marchand, he skated behind Scott Harrington, the defenseman of the Columbus and gave him a punch in the back of his head as he was kneeled down.
Harrington was not particularly hurt by this punch and referees also seemed to have missed this play because they were too busy separating other players. As for Marchand, after his cheap shot, he skated away after Boone Jenner said something to him.
Game 4 between the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets will be played on Thursday in Columbus.
