On the Saturday night game of NHL between Boston Bruins VS New York Rangers, Bruins’ goalie Tuukka Rask had a chance to set a franchise record. However, he had to leave the ice with a deadly pain and a conclusion he suffered due to a vicious collision of the crease.
Fillip Chytil had just scored a goal against Rask as she used his speed to move past the two Bruins defenders. However, Chytil was hooked briefly by Boston’s David Pastrnak while still maintaining his speed moving towards the net and bumped into the sliding defenseman Charlie McAvoy and went airborne.
Chytil who was airborne hit Rask in the head with his hip and bowled over. As Rask bowled over, his head went into the post and then struck ice hard.
Ranger players gathered around Chytil to congratulate him while Bruins players were gathered concerned around Rask.
Rask eventually got up slowly and was helped move out of the ice and into the dressing room with a grimaced look of pain on his face the whole way.
Rask was replaced by Bruins goalie Jaroslav Halak who gave two goals to Bruins defeat by 3-2.
Rask had a chance to set the record wins for Bruins as a goalie as he was currently tied for the record with Cecil ‘Tiny’ Thompson at 252 wins.
He will now go into the concussion protocol and the Bruins had time to wait for him as they will not play again until January 29th because of a bye week and the All-Star break.
