Cam Newton; Carolina Panthers quarterback is expected to miss remainder of the season

The team announced that Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton is not going to be in the team’s Sunday game against Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. With this speculation has risen that he might not be playing for the rest of the season too.

Newton has been struggling with his sore shoulder for the most part of this year as his team has sunk to 6-8 this season. Mathematically speaking, Panthers are just two games away from being eliminated from being a contender in the playoffs.

Ron Rivera; head coach of Panthers decided to bench Newton and let Taylor Heinicke take the start or the Panthers against the Atlanta Falcons.

Newton has previously missed practice sessions with team mid-season. He had undergone surgery in March of 2017 for this same shoulder injury. He was operated or repairing his torn Rotator Cuff.

Ron Rivera has still left the door open for Cam Newton that he can play in the season finale at New Orleans if Panthers could make it into the playoffs.

Newton, in his 14 games this season as the starting QB for Panthers, completed 320 of his 471 passes for 3395 yards along with 24 TDs and 13 interceptions. He also made 488 rushing yards with 4 TDs.
