Cavs defeat Knicks to franchise-record 17th straight loss

The New York Knicks’ franchise-record 17th straight loss might have been the toughest thing for the Knicks to endure.

Knicks who erased the 17 points deficit in the second half had many chances to take the lead or at least tie the game in the final minute but in the end, they still got defeat by 107-104 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.

The guard of Knicks, Dennis Smith Jr. said, “Its incredibly hard. No one wants to lose especially 17 games in a row. If we had pulled it out of this game, it would have been huge for us.”

Cavs were led by Collin Sexton who scored 20 points along with him hitting two free throws that gave the Cavs a three-point lead in the final minute to win the game.

Knicks coach David Fizdale said, “When you have got a chance in the end and you just don’t win, then it hurts really badly. We had a shot, actually two of them but it just did not go down as we wanted it to.”

Knicks were led by Larry Nance Jr. who scored 15 points with 15 rebounds while Jordan Clarkson added in his 15 points for the team. As for Knicks’ Kevin Love, he scored 14 points with 9 rebounds as he was making a return on the court following his foot surgery.

Kadeem Allen scored his career high of 25 points to lead the Knicks who are currently 10-46 on the season which is the worst record of the league this season. They have now lost 25 of their last 26 games and 30 of their last 32 games.

Up next, New York Knicks will host a game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday while Cleveland Cavaliers will host a game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
