Celtics beat Wizards by 107-96 to end their 4-game slide

The fourth quarter late defense allowed the Boston Celtics to win the game and end their 4-game skid on Friday night.

Kyrie Irving scored 13 points with 12 assists and Al Horford scored 19 points as Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards by 107-96 on Friday night.

This was Celtics’ first win after the All-Star break as the avoided their first 5-game skid in the past 4 years.

Marcus Smart who cored16 points for the Celtics said, ‘tonight was a fun night for everybody and you could clearly see that. Tonight the ball was popping and it was moving all around the court. We made every play right tonight.”

From Celtics side, Marcus Morris scored 17 points with 9 rebounds while Jaylen Brown scored 13 points.

Boston Celtic kept Wizards scoreless for the fourth quarter’s early 4 minutes. Boston Coach Brad Stevens said, “That one stretch managed to separate the game and that was fun to see.”

As for Washington Wizards, they were led by Bradley Beal who scored 29 points with 11 rebounds while Tomas Satoransky and Jeff Green both scored 15 points each.

Washington coach Scott Brooks said, “Turnovers were the ones that made the difference. I thought that we played a very strong defensive game against a team that has a lot of young talent. We gave them so many easy opportunities.”

With this loss, Wizards have now lost 5 of their last 6 games.

Up next, Washington Wizards will host a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night while Boston Celtics will host a game against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night.
