Chris Billam-Smith wins the vacant title of Commonwealth cruiserweight by beating Craig Glover

The fight for the vacant title of the Commonwealth Cruiserweight held at the M&S Bank Arena between Chris Billam-Smith and Craig Glover ended with a win for Chris Billam-Smith in Liverpool.  

Glover was downed by Chris Billam-Smith 3 times before the fight was called off as now Chris Billam-Smith puts himself up for a rematch against Richard Riakporhe to whom he lost his undefeated record back in June.

Chris Billam-Smith said in the post-fight interview, “Craig is a really great fighter and I was feeling scared going into this fight. Now, I would love to have a fight with the winner of Riakporhe VS Massey.”

Glover who was fighting in front of the home crowd managed to gain points led in the opening few rounds but he did suffer a cut on his right eye during the 1st round.

Billam-Smith was then able to catch Glover with a right and then with 2 hooks to send him crashing onto the canvas at the end of 4th round.

Billam-Smith was then able to drop his opponent the 2nd time after he unleashed a barrage of punches after Glover was downed. This forced referee to intervene and wave the fight off in win for Chris Billam-Smith.
