Doc Rivers took a read of the preseason prediction that said that his team would win only about 35 games this season. However, neither did Rivers nor his team take much heed of it. Now these LA Clippers are bound for playoffs.
Danilo Gallinari led the LA Clippers with his 25 points to help his team clinch the playoff spot by beating Minnesota Timberwolves by 122-111 on Tuesday night.
LA Clippers are once again in the postseason game after falling behind for 1 season. Last season, Clipper finished for 42-40 after making it to playoffs for 6 times in a row and 4 times under Rivers.
Rivers said, “I am really happy for our guys. Before the year started, we went through all types of talks as to how bad we are going to be. I just told our guys that they do not know us.”
Clippers who are now 45-30 on the regular season have now become the 5th team in Western Conference to secure a berth at the playoffs. As for the remaining 7 games of the regular season, they still have a nice shot to win the home court advantage.
Clippers bench helped a lot on the night as Lou Williams scored 20 points. With this win, Clippers have now won 6 games in a row which is the longest active winning streak of this season.
As for Minnesota Timberwolves, they were led by Karl-Anthony Towns who scored 24 points along with 13 rebounds while Andrew Wiggins added in his 22 points and Dario Saric added in his 18 points for the Wolves.
Coming from deep down in the NBA, Clippers have now become the 2nd most accurate 3-pointer shooting team in the NBA right now.
Up next, LA Clippers will be playing against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. As for Minnesota Timberwolves, they will be playing against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
