Conley and Holiday help Grizzlies beat Timberwolves by 108-106

Mike Conley put a great effort and performance in what is perhaps going to be his last game with Memphis Grizzlies.

Conley scored 25 points along with 9 assists as Grizzlies defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves by 108-106 on Tuesday night. Justin Holiday from Grizzlies’ side threw two free throws with .1 second remaining to the game.

Conley and his longtime teammate Marc Gasol are beings hopped around before the Thursday’s trade deadline. Gasol was last in talks as the talks of the Grizzlies trade are underway.

The rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies also added in his 23 points while Ivan Rabb scored his career high of 19 points along with 11 rebounds for the team while Justin Holiday finished with his 17 points.

On the other hand, Minnesota Timberwolves were being led by Karl-Anthony Towns who scored 26 points and 18 rebounds while Dario Saric finished for the night with 22 points and Luol Deng fished for the night with 18 points.

Minnesota interim coach Ryan Saunders said, “We had the opportunity to win the game early. When you dig yourself a 19 points hole, it is hard to make a comeback from it.”

Conley, for whom this might be his last game with Grizzlies said, “It was a little surreal. It would cross my mind about every timeout. Look into the crowd and be looking back at the bench. Looking at the coaches, the players, my wife and my kids in the stands where they have been for the past 12 seasons. I was just trying to take all that in and enjoy it.”

Up next, Minnesota Timberwolves will play against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night while Memphis Grizzlies will play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.
