Whiteside has 28 as the Heat hold off the Blazers for a win by 118-108

Hassan Whiteside finally found his voice and the Miami Heat got their win.

Whiteside scored 28 points with 11 rebounds as he took the lead of the Miami Heat who defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by 118-108 to end their three-game losing streak on Tuesday night.

Dwayne Wade said, “We heard Hassan’s voice as he talked to us on both sides of the floor tonight. Talking to us, he huddled us in. he was engaged in the game. His presence was known and whenever he plays like this, he is hat active and we are a good team.”

In the first of Miami’s five-game road trip, Wade added in his 22 points with 9 rebounds.

As for Trail blazers, they were led by CJ McCollum who scored 33 points which also included his 7 3-pointers. With this loss, Blazers’ five-game winning streak at home snapped.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said about Portland’s late rally, “McCollum started rolling the boys ad there was not much I could tell the guys. In these kinds of moments, you do not need to beat yourself. We were competitive in the last few minutes very much and found a couple of stops. Whiteside also had a couple of rebounds.”

Up next, Miami Heat will play against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night whereas Portland Trail Blazers will host a game against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night.
