In the Saturday night fight of the boxing between Conor Benn and Steve Jamoye, Benn got an explosive knockout win over his opponent with an angry KO punch in the 4th round.
Conor Benn had one point deducted by the referee for a low blow but in his anger, he was able to up the ante and win the fight of the welterweight division after a few moments.
He hit Jamoye with 2 right-hand punches in a row that had his opponent hurt really badly. Following this, Jamoye had to suffer the hit of a left hook that had him sent flying onto the canvas.
Conor Benn, the uneaten boxer spent the early few rounds of the fight by injecting heavily in body shots. His left-hand punches were the ones that did some accurate damage to his opponent’s ribs but still swayed a little low which led to his punishment by Steve Gray, the referee of the bout.
Conor Benn celebrated his 16th win in a row with his father named Nigel Benn. Nigel Benn is the boxing legend of Great Britain who is going to have a fight at the age of 55 years old for the first time in 23 years next month.
With this, Conor Benn was able to win the WBA Continental belt following his Belgian opponent’s loss.
Shortly after his win, the 23 years old, Conor Benn pointed out to the point he got deducted, “I was really angry as it is not my fault that he is really short. I told the referee, why did you do that? He has done 10 rounds 9 times and I have done 10 rounds only once. This was my 16th fight and 14 of them ended with my opponent touching the canvas. I will catch you at some stage.”
The promoter of Conor Benn, Eddie Hearn said, “Conor is improving really fast. He works really hard and he is going to be a great fighter. You won’t be seeing him in the nightclubs and also not see him abusing his amazing lifestyle. He is in the gym training with his dad. You can really see that he is the kid of Nigel Benn”.
