The NFL team; Dallas Cowboys has been named as the world’s most valuable team for the 4th time in a row this year as per the list published by the Forbes that was clearly this year dominated by NFL clubs.
Dallas Cowboys topped the 2016’s top-ranking team Real Madrid. This year the team is valued at a sum of nearly 5 billion dollars which is a 4% increase when compared to their valuation of last year.
The MLB team New York Yankees whose value saw an increase of 10 percent in its audience attendance as well as its strong rating on the YES Network, they have moved from the third place to be the 2nd most valuable team in the world with a value being at nearly 4.6 billion dollars.
Coming 3rd and 4th are the soccer clubs like Real Madrid at their value of 4.2 billion dollars and Barcelona with 4.02 billion dollars respectively. 5th place was assumed by the NBA team New York Knicks with a value of 4 billion dollars whereas the 6th place went to the Premier League club Manchester United with its value of 3.81 billion dollars.
Senior Editor of the Forbes media, Kurt Badenhausen said, “The increase in the values of the major sports teams are skyrocketing in the past few years following their sky-high deal from the TV which is both on the local and international level. With the revenue of these sports teams growing more than the salaries of players, these fracases are more profitable than they ever were.”
The NFL teams have the most broadcast contracts and thus they were the ones that held 26 spots on the 50-team list. As for NBA, they had 9 teams on this slit which is 1 more than the last year as for the teams of F1, ice hockey and NASCAR, none of them made the cut on the list.
