Daniel Dubois beats Ebenezer Tetteh with first-round stoppage to win the Commonwealth heavyweight title

In the Commonwealth Heavyweight title fight held between Daniel Dubois and Ebenezer Tetteh, Dubois was able to win the fight by the 1s rounds stoppage. The fight was held in London at the Royal Albert Hall.

22 years old Dubois, who had already won the British Heavyweight title during his last fight held in July, he was able to deliver the audience his dominant display of might as he extended his perfect unbeaten record to 13-0 for going into professional rank.

In his last 12 fights, Dubois had won the last 11 fights with a stoppage and during his fight with the Ghanaian opponent Tetteh, who was fighting for the very first time outside of his country, he delivered him with relative ease.

Dubois was able to land a devastating body shot which forced Tetteh to be dropped down in the middle of the first round following a right hook.

Following the damage, Tetteh was still able to bounce back on his feet but then Dubois followed with his combination of left-right forcing the referee to fight off.

In other fights of the night, Nicola Adams was able to retain her WBO flyweight belt after having the split decision win draw against Marina Salinas of Mexico.

Adams, the ex-world amateur champ and the gold medalist of the Olympic Games was fighting for the first time since last 11 months and was able to display an amazing performance in her return.

Salinas was highly expectant of her win but was only given the verdict of 96-94 from one judge with the second one giving the score of 97-93 to her opponent while third made a draw score of 95-95.

In the one-sided fight, Adams was able to make a  dominant start for the first 3 rounds but then Salinas responded with her accurate punches during fight’s 2nd half.

The verdict of judges was met with lots of boos from the London crowd on the Venu which featured the female boxing fight for the first time in history.

Adams has given a statement where she expressed her wish for a rematch against Salinas.
