Devin Haney gains seventh round knockout victory over Antonio Moran with stunning

The fight held between Devin Haney and Antonio Moran on the early hours of Sunday morning at the MGM National harbor located in Maryland, Haney secured himself a seventh-round knockout win.

Haney was able to drop his opponent twice in the fight, with the first time in the 5th round with a body shot and the second time in the 7th with an overhand right punch for a knockout victory. Moran was never even able to contest the count.

With this splendid knockout victory, the 20 years old lightweight fighter extends his perfect career record of 22 straight wins with 14 KO victories. With this win, Haney has retained his WBC International belt along with his WBO Inter-continental belt.

Haney said, “Coming into this fight, I wanted to make a statement to everyone. There were a lot of rumors growing up about me that I do not have a lot of punching power. But as you can see, I definitely can. I went in there and I broke my opponent down.”

Moran took an aggressive approach in the first round but his effort was shaded by an overhand right punch with the 2nd round showing Haney’s splendid footwork as well as his defensive skills to avoid his opponent’s swinging hook.

The third saw, Haney, putting in power behind his hits as he made a punching bag out of Moran in the 4th. He hurt him quite a bit before the bell for the 4th round was sounded.

With a short few moments into the 5th, Moran was sent to the floor with a short right-hand body shot but made it back to his feet. The round ended with him receiving more uppercuts and hooks.

Moran took a breather in the 6th but was then forced to in the corner during the 7th with a one-two combination of Haney. Haney then delivered a left hook followed by an overright punch to knock his opponent out .
