Doncic and Porzingis debut help Mavericks beat Wizards by 108-100

The showdown between Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards and Luka Doncic of Dallas Mavericks ended with Doncic staying in the game while Beal getting ejected during the 4th quarter following physical exchanges between the two players.

It was not that Kristaps Porzingis of the Mavericks scored a one-hand dunk on the alley-oop to let Mavericks have a late rally and a win over the Wizards.

This was not perhaps the most effective way as both teams saw to win the season-opening game.

Doncic led the Mavericks with his 34 points along with 9 rebounds while Kristaps Porzingis scored 23 points and the game-winning dunk during the final minute as Mavericks won over Wizards by 108-100 on Wednesday night opening game.

Beal said, “Its just hoops. You can see it when I get kicked out. He was the one who came out first and then dapped me. We were not fighting. That is simply basketball. I was only trying to frustrate him.  He was handing us out butts and I had to do something to get into his head.”

Rui Hachimura, the rookie of the Wizards, is their first Japanese player to have been drafted by the. In his debut with the Wizards, Rui Hachimura scored 14 points along with 10 rebounds.

Wizards had a 23-point deficit before the game went into the 4th quarter with only 1 and half a minute to the third. Beal and Doncic were both called on technical. Beal’s was ejected and then ejected the second time for his 2nd technical.

Up next, is the longest road trip for the Washington Wizards as they travel to Oklahoma City and play against the San Antonio Spurs. This is the longest three-game trip for a team in NBA’s season opener since 1983-84 season.

As for Mavericks, they will be playing a game against the New Orleans Pelicans this Friday night.
