Philadelphia 76ers were eager to return home from their road trip early and it almost cost them the game.
76ers who had 30 points lead until the early fourth quarter, blew it all up by the end. Whoever they were still able to hold off the Suns for a win by a 132-127 on the Wednesday night.
Joel Embiid who was playing despite a sore knee scored 42 points to match his season high and also led the team to its victory.
From the 76ers side, other players like Ben Simmons scored 29 points while JJ Reddick scored 27 points.
76ers were playing without Jimmy Butler and Wilson Chandler, both of whom are out due to a respiratory infection.
As for the Suns, they were led by Devin Booker who scored 37 points while DeAndre Payton scored 18 points off his 11 boards, lastly Josh Jackson scored 16 points for the team.
Brett Brown, the 76ers coach said to media, “I think we left back on December 24th and now we are ready to go back home. It did not end really as authoritative as we hoped for.”
Up next, Philadelphia 76ers will host a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night while Phoenix Suns will host a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
