Eric Byrnes, the former MLB player has set himself a world record as he played 420 holes in golf in a time span of 24 hours earlier on Monday and Tuesday. He set this goal while playing at the Ocean Course located at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links on California.
Byrnes has played for the MLB teams such as Oakland A’s, Arizona Diamondbacks and three other major teams from the year 2000 to 2010. After ending his career, Byrnes has become an endurance athlete. Byrnes, in his efforts to raise awareness for the “Let Them Play Foundation” earned himself a spot in the golf sport as well as the “Guinness Book of World Records”.
Byrnes started playing gold at the course at around 7 am in very cooperative weather for his 24 hours golfing sprint.
Byrnes presented a swift play as he rarely showed any sign of slowing down to ponder on any of his next shots. The Half Moon Bay reviewed his style to be hitting shots in a motion that could be described to be more common with polo rather than with golf.
The record of 420 holes was finally set by Byrnes at around 5:31 am on Tuesday. In the next 89 minutes, he scored 18 more holes as he finished with 420 h9oles.
The “Let Them Play Foundation” to which Byrnes is part of, is aiming to help children play sports outdoors. Athletes of the Half Moon Bay area also joined Byrnes on his excited record run.
