On the Saturday night game of soccer for the FA Cup, Manchester City was able to break through the stubborn defense of their opponent Newport in the second half to win the game by 4-1.
With this win, Manchester City now moves to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Newport had their hope up for going into the fifth round of the event when Padraig Amond scored a goal to make the scoreboard at 2-1 in h 88th minute of the game.
However, his goal was replied back by a second goal from Manchester City’s Phil Foden. Later Riyad Mahrez added an injury-time score to help the City advance to the quarterfinals for heir fourth possible trophy.
In other news, Brighton and Millwall also advance to the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
Brighton defeated second-tier Derby by 2-1 whereas the Millwall defeated Wimbledon by 1-0.
