Fried shines to lead Braves 3-game sweep of Cubs by 9-4

Max Fired credits his time in the bullpen to be helping his mentality as he is now more confident in his skills and his approach has also become aggressive.

Fired managed to take the sixth inning in a perfect game as Nick Markakis scored five runs on 5 hits to lead Atlanta Braves to win over the Chicago Cubs by 9-4 on Thursday night. With this win, Braves complete a 3-game sweep of the Cubs.

Fired said that he has learned to just trust his stuff.

Fired, with his fastball clocking in at 97mph, managed to add in curve and slider to have consistent strikeouts.

Brian Snitker, the Braves manager said, “When a kid figures to add all of these assortments on his own, then it is really something.”

In the 6th innings, Fried managed to have no walks along with 5 strikeouts.

Braves were leading the game with 9-0 before Cubs managed to score 4 runs in the ninth innings. As 2  run homer was hit by Anthony Rizzo while Javier Baez followed his suit with a homer of his own.

The Cubs who have now lost five games straight are now 1-5 for the first time in the season since 2012. That year, they lost 101 games.

Rizzo said, “It sucks but this the beauty of this game. We get to come in tomorrow at the pitch and write our own story again.”
