Gay’s buzzer beater gives Spurs a win over Suns by 126-124

Rudy Gay of the San Antonio Spurs was mobbed after his game winning shot against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. However the celebration was turned to cold dose of reality once he went in the locker room.

Gay shot a 21-foot jumper at the buzzer of the game to allow the Spurs overcome the Devin Booker’s 38 points to let the Spurs win the game by 126-124 on Tuesday night. With this win, Phoenix Suns’ losing streak extends to 9 games.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said, “We were really fortunate to win this game. In my opinion; they outplayed us, outcoached us, out-physicaled us, out-executed us. As for us, we had no respect for the game; we did not play with each other. It was a pathetic performance by us and Phoenix got robbed by us.”

San Antonio Spurs were led by LaMarcus Aldridge who scored 29 points. The Spurs’ homestand is currently 2-0 on their four-game road trip even if they are currently paling without DeMar DeRozan. As for Gay, he finished for the night with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Up next, Phoenix Suns will host a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night while San Antonio Spurs will host a game against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.
