Orlando Magic proved again that they can beat even the best of NBA. They also showed that they can also lose to some of the worst too.
Aaron Gordon scored 22 points with 15 rebounds and Terrene Ross scored 16 points to lead the Magic win over the Golden State Warriors by 103-96 in their last three minutes rally on Thursday night.
With this win, Magic are now 2-2 for the week as they also defeated the Atlantic division leader Toronto Raptors while losing to low ranking New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls.
Gordon said, “Its complacency. We need to beat the complacency> we showed once more that we are a good team but we still need to learn to play at a level against everybody and not to be complacent.”
D.J. Austin scored 14 points while Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points with 13 rebounds to help the Orlando magic end their 9-game losing streak against the Warriors. Orlando’s last win against the Golden State Warriors was back on December 14th of 2012.
Warriors were led by Stephen Curry who scored 33 points but still was only 1 for 6 in the fourth quarter. Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins scored 21 points each for the team who were applying without their other stars like Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala.
This is the first time that Golden State Warriors have lost games on a back-to-back night against the Eastern conference teams since March 1 and 2nd of 2013. That time they lost to Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.
Up next, Golden State Warriors will finish their 4-game road trip to play against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. As for Orlando magic, they will be starting their 3-game road trip as they play against Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night.
