Despite Houston Rockets led by James Harden won the game in the closing minutes against Phoenix Suns on Friday night, Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni hardly criticized his team to pay attention to the details with the postseason soon coming.
He said, “It has been five games and our focus is not where it should be. All we need right now is to be focused to give is the better chance of making it into the playoffs. And when finally the playoffs come, you can’t turn that switch on of course on like its nothing. We are not razor sharp right now.”
James Harden led the Rockets with his 41 points as well as his 11 assists and 9 rebounds as the Rockets got a victory over Phoenix Suns by 108-102.
Rockets had to suffer massive trouble against the Suns who had only won 16 games this season as they trailed Rockets for most of the night and only allowing them to complete 11 of their 40 3-pointers.
Harden said, “We just need to play more consistently on our stops. We only do it when we need to do it and not throughout the course of the game. If we keep it consistent throughout the game, it will help our game to be at another level.”
Despite that this was Rockets’ 10 consecutive win over the Suns as Rockets have won ten of their last 11 games against Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix Suns were led by Booker who scored 29 points for the team who have now lost their second straight game.
Igor Kokoskov, the coach of Suns said, “We could not close the game. We only lost the game in the last closing minutes and last few possessions.”
Up next, Phoenix Suns will be plsying against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night while Houston Rockets will play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night.
